PlumpJack Inn · Olympic Valley
Director of Revenue & Marketing. Storm cycles included.
Rate strategy, occupancy and demand for a landmark Olympic Valley inn and its cafe — through a full winter cycle and the shoulder seasons on either side of it.
The room
A boutique inn where one storm cycle can rewrite the month.
Olympic Valley does not sell rooms evenly. A February powder weekend and a Tuesday in late October are two different businesses wearing the same sign, and the property that treats them the same leaves money on the table twice — once by underpricing the weekend everyone wants, and again by holding a rate nobody will pay in the shoulder season.
The work
Nightly rate strategy against real demand rather than a rate sheet set in the fall. Occupancy and pace reporting that answered the only question ownership actually asks — what is on the books, what is soft, and what do we do about it this week. Paid media and brand marketing for the inn and the cafe, run as one business rather than two line items, because the guest does not see the difference.
Why it matters to you
Most people selling hospitality marketing have never been responsible for the rate. This is the chair you are sitting in: the forecast, the ADR conversation, the weekend that sells itself and the month that does not. When we talk about your property, we are not starting from a case study — we are starting from the same spreadsheet.
